If you cannot be in New Orleans, do celebrate Mardi
Gras with us while dancing to the glorious music of Franklin Beau Davis and
The Brassworks, who will play an evening of popular late 19th
Century dance music, ranging from the most exquisite waltzes, mazurka
waltzes, quadrilles, and mixers to exhilarating polkas.
As usual, the band will also play our favorite Neo-Victorian dances
"The Congress of Vienna" and "The Bohemian National Polkas" and some
delightful musical surprises.
After the 7 pm vintage ballroom dance lesson, formal
dancing to our wonderful band follows from 8 pm to midnight.
Mid to late Victorian evening dress, fancy dress,
fantasy costume, or modern evening dress is admired but not required and
costumes in shades of purple, green, and gold are very welcome.
Our usual no host bar will be available and a light
complimentary snack buffet (your potluck contributions are welcome) will be
served.
Laissez les bons temps rouler!
