Join us for a night on the town with the Lost Generation in swinging 1920's Paris.  The utterly exquisite Baguette Quartette plays an evening of vintage French nightclub dance music: Their romantic waltzes are to die for, but the band is equally famous for their lively javas (mazurka waltzes), one-steps, fox trots, tangos, sambas, mixers, and even an occasional French polka. No partners needed. There will be a 7 pm pre-ball vintage ballroom dance lesson and the mixers will be taught and called.

At intermission the lovely Sara Klotz de Aguilar of Sara & Swingtime will play some of that new American music - Le Swing, Les Blues, and The Charleston - that used to be banned in clubs like this!

Our half-time show is a short but sizzling performance of that new American dance, The Charleston, by the Someday Sweethearts, San Francisco's sweetest chorus girl dance troupe. Performing routines inspired by the 1920's, 30's, and 40's, they offer a wide variety of entertainment.  The Someday Sweethearts will also teach a Charleston lesson during the final section of our 7 - 8 pm pre-ball workshop so do come early and join in!

1920's or 30's costume or vintage or modern evening dress is admired but not required.  Artists, writers, movie stars, slumming aristocrats and plutocrats - even dangerous apaches (if they check their weapons at the door or leave them at home)

The event features a no-host bar, a light snack buffet (your potluck finger-food contributions will be appreciated), and a salon for conversation and photography.
